William B. Scott II
William transferred to San Antonio 18 months ago and is Secretary of the Board of Directors for VetStrong. William was in active addiction 17 years ago and as a result was homeless for two years prior. William was Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force and is a Combat Veteran. Prior to moving to San Antonio, William was Vice President of Board of Directors for Operation Stand Down-Nashville. OSDN serves all veterans through their Veteran Center, but concentrates on homeless veterans. It was a natural fit when he heard about Vet Strong starting last year. William enjoys giving back and just about every Saturday or Sunday he is delivering furniture to homeless veterans who have a new empty unfurnished apartment.
William is an Addiction Therapist with the VA in their residential substance abuse treatment center. Prior to working with the homeless, William was an Eligibility Counselor 2 for the Department of Human Services/State of Tennessee. Here he helped low income clients to obtain their safety net benefits (i.e. Food Stamps & Medicare) for 6 years. William has Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from the University of Tennessee. He also has a Masters in Public Administration with minor in Non-Profit Management from Tennessee State University. William has a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University-Sarasota, FL. William has been working on a Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University.
